Thank you so much to all of you who supported our book fair. We were able to choose 56 free books for the Junior Library. All of these books will be available to borrow from us. Now, which to read first...

Come and visit our Book fair

Looking for presents or something new to read? Look no further, we are excited to announce our Book fair has arrived, offering a fantastic selection of books. 

The Book Fair will be situated in the Junior Library and will open at the following times: Monday 30^th September until Wednesday 2^nd October at 3.00pm, 3.35pm and 4.35pm. 

For every book sold, we will receive books for the school. Please come along and have a look.

What a choice!

The Book Buzz books have landed. All of our Year 7 pupils will be receiving a free book courtesy of the Book Trust. The Book Buzz initiative promotes reading for pleasure something we are proud to be a part of. 

Each Year 7 pupil will be able to choose a book of their choice from the Book Buzz selection and will receive it around December. 

There are a wide choice of books and pupils will be able to view all of these during their reading lesson before making their important choice. Now, what to choose...

The Amazing Book Awards Evening

Year 9 

The winner M.A. Bennett

And the winner is...


After months of reading the 5 nominated books and voting for our favourite, the night had arrived when the winner would be announced. Myself and Ms Pang travelled to Worthing High with our Year 9 pupils to attend the ABA Finals. Pupils heard from several authors M. A. Bennett, Lauren James, Matt Killeen and watched videos from Sarah Crossan and S. M. Wilson. All authors read a short exert and spoke about the inspiration behind their books. Then it was time for the announcement, drum roll... and the winner of the 2019 ABA Awards was M. A. Bennett with her book S.T.A.G.S. 

This book focuses on Greer MacDonald who is struggling to fit in at the prestigious St. Aidan the Great boarding school or S.T.A.G.S. as it's referred to by the privileged pupils. Over the next three days, as the three bloodsports - hunting, shooting and fishing - become increasingly dark and twisted, Greer comes to the horrifying reality that those being hunted are not wild game, but the very misfits Henry has brought with him from school...

Reading Superstars

A great big pat on the back to all of our amazing readers. We managed to read 121,214 minutes during the 200 million minutes challenge. A special shout out to Year 6 who made huge contributions to this total. We now have our target for next year, keep reading everyone and congratulations. 

Scarlett Thomas - author

On 1st May, we took our lucky Year 5 pupils to Shoreham Academy to meet and listen to author Scarlett Thomas. Scarlett talked about the inspiration behind her series Worldquake explaining about both the characters and settings.
